The Seeker Amidst the Windmills (Alberta, Canada)

You're probably in the office or headed out the door while you read this, and that's okay. But if you'd perchance have a minute, put on a lazy tune and look at the image again. (For me, I am listening to "Austrian Morning" by Carinthia off their Album All My Fountains Are in You.)

There's great mystery in the wonder of nature. Why are we so drawn to it? Why does the sound of waves calm us, or birds lift our spirits. Why does a brisk breeze make us feel more alive, and why does the sun speak of hope, and the moon of imagination?

Please don't try and explain the scientific answer. Truth is, science only captures a shadow of the answer anyways. It's like reducing love to a sexual experience, or joy to a mere feeling; when in fact they'r so much more….

I look at this and see hope; hope of a better life, of the graces given to mankind. I feel the breeze around my body, smell the clover beneath my feet and believe in a God who loves us unconditionally.

and I think…

No matter what happens in this life, and the circumstances thrust upon me (fair or unfair) It is my choice in how I want to live within them. I can blame others, life, and even God, but ultimately it is my free will to choose how I will live; mine and mine alone.

I am one of the seekers amidst the windmills. I hold its beauty in my soul. I choose to let it affect me.

much love,

-TJ
