The Fighter_Cancer "just for me" session (Greenville, SC)

Remember what you have before you lose it
Photography is about capturing a moment you can never get back. Time moves on with or without us, and it's a daily decision whether we are going to live each day on purpose. This became more real to me as we undertook a project involving a lady who found out she had cancer.

The birth of the "just for me" session
Deborah came to us wanting to capture what she looked like, with her real hair, before treatment began. The shoot, she said, is for me. She helped us coin a new term at getzcreative called a "just for me" session. You don't need to be diagnosed with cancer to have one of these sessions. Sometimes it's perfect to celebrate where you are today, just because you realize the beauty you've been given today. Tomorrow is not here yet, yesterday is already gone, but it's today that we've been given. There are so many good things we can be grateful for, and I want 2012 to be a year of gratitude for what we do have.

Life could always be better, but living in gratitude for what we have now, can dramatically change our outlook, and bring opportunities we may have never seen had we been focusing on the "what wasn't going right."

I love this photo below, because it reminds me of the spirit each one of us can choose to embrace, if we put our heart into being grateful for what we have now. This message goes way beyond pictures and creative imagery. And if you've been wanting to celebrate a moment in your life, don't wait; start today and watch the magic of life unfold before you— focusing your mind in a spirit of gratefulness. And perhaps you'll find yourself wanting to capture that moment in one of our "Just for Me" sessions!

much love and looking forward,
-TJ

Love this idea -- so glad ya'll were able to capture these moments for her and even more thrilled that she thought to do this for her.
