thoughts on creativity...

Creativity is a beautiful part of the human experience. It's a gift I never want to take for granted and yet sometimes I do. Isn't it normal for us to give little thought to the subtle changes in the sky; the shapes and their swooshes, the color shifts occurring from morning to mid-day, to yet another twilight? I use the sky as reference b/c it's something so large and seemingly so "close to us", such as the talents each of us possess. And yet we can easily give them no thought as the rest of day is filled with seemingly "more important matters".

If nothing else, try and remember that this "pull for our thoughts", away from the wonder right in front of us.

I believe the pull is good. It's the contrast we need to give both sides of our life more clarity; allowing us to see where edges blur and graduate into something different. If I am to be perfectly honest, I often find myself wishing that life were one sided. I am attracted to life in a certain way, and have a vision to how that should look. But if I really got what I thought I wanted, I think it would be a disservice to my growth and enjoyment of life. How can we enjoy the stars without darkness, and how can feel the warmth of the sun without the light? This pull, this contrast helps us as humans. I urge you to embrace it; take the good with the bad, so that you may be able to enjoy the good in an even deeper fashion.
